It is the mission of the Dance Spectrum to provide the highest quality
dance and fitness instruction to our students in a nurturing, repectful
and safe environment. These policies are all designed to help us achieve
that mission.

Class
Placement
Your child will be placed into class according to their ability, not necessarily
by age.
If class enrollment does not exceed eight students, the class will be cancelled
and students will be assigned to a different class.
Tuition
Tuition is a course fee based on a 32 week season. (Complete tuition breakdowns
available in the office). Example:

| Tuition
is divided into 10 equal payments. |
- All
tuition payments are due on or before the 1st of each month. (Direct
payments and auto payments can be set up in the office)

- Accounts
may be paid in cash, check, or Visa, Master Card, and Discover.

- Any
tuition payments made after the 10th of the month will receive a $10.00
late charge. NO EXCEPTIONS
|
- Students
who fall more than two months behind on payments will not be allowed
to take class until the account is paid in full, including late fees.
|
- Boys
always dance for 50% off the regular price.
|
- Dance
Spectrum parents always dance at 25% off the regular price.

checks returned from the bank will receive a $25.00 service charge. After

Fees |
- Costumes
are required for each routine that a student will be performing in the
June showcase.

non-refundable costume fee is due with Tuition #4 (November 1st 2008)

costume fees paid after the November 10th 2008 will receive a $10.00
late charge, per costume, per month.

Lessons |
- Solos, Duets, & Trios
are given at the discretion of the faculty based on the ability of the
dancer.

- Detailed
information & applications are available in the office.

- Any student
applying for a private lesson must be currently enrolled in that subject
as well as a weekly Ballet class.

Parent Watch Week
There will be two opportunities for you to watch your child during
class this year. We ask that younger siblings do not attend Watch Week.
We have found that the younger children have a difficult time sitting
still and they can disrupt the class. We have found this offers your
child the best environment for a quality education.

Absenteeism
Thank you for your commitment to attendance; it helps to maintain class
dynamic throughout the year.
Proper technique are accomplished through practice and patience.
It is the students responsibility to attend all classes, therefore, reductions
cannot be made for missed classes.
If a students is unable to attend class, PLEASE call the studio, (716)
668-1954.
Drop Off/Pick Up
The Dance Spectrum cannot be responsible for the care of students before
or after class. Do not drop off your child more than 15 minutes before
class and pick up your child as soon as class is over. For the children’s safety, we ask that parents come into to studio
to pick up your dancer. We do not allow children to go into the parking
lot without an adult. Parents are asked to park in an appropriate spot
in the parking lot. PLEASE DO NOT PARK AT THE CURB.
Teacher
Conferences/Questions
The faculty will be happy to assist or address any concerns you may have. Please
call or e-mail the studio to arrange a time to talk.
PLEASE DO NOT DELAY THE FACULTY BETWEEN CLASSES.
Security
The Dance Spectrum is NOT responsible for lost or stolen items. Please do not
bring valuables to class.

Studio
Closings
In the event that the studio must be closed for weather or other emergencies,
please tune in to WBEN, WKSE, WKBW, WMJQ, WEDG or WGRZ-TV2 or WKBW Channel 7
for closing information. The decision to cancel classes will be made by approximately
2pm on weekdays and 7am on Saturdays. Snow days are not made up unless there
is more than one for a certain day of the week.
Studio closings do not always coincide with school closings. |
Acceptable Dance Attire
All of the below listed dance attires are enforced for the safety of
the student, freedom of movement and uniformity of the class.
Students
should write their name in full on all dance bags and shoes.
Please, turn off all cell phones before coming into class.
Dance and Acro
Girls: leotard, dance tops and tights/dance pants(any style, any color)
Boys: dance pants and tee shirt
Loose clothing over dance wear is not permitted in class.
Ballet
Girls: black leotard, suntan tights
Boys: black dance pants, white form fitting tee shirt
Hip Hop
Street Clothes (no jeans)
Hair
Hair for all students must be secured tightly and neatly for every
class. Secure buns, French braids or head scarfs are acceptable. Long
ponytails
can be dangerous
and distracting and CANNOT be worn in class.
Shoes
Combination:
Girls - black patent leather tap shoes, pink ballet slippers
Boys - black oxford tap shoes
Jazz: black split sole 1/2 boots or oxfords
Tap: Girls - black leather dollies or oxfords
Boys - black leather oxfords
Acrobatics: bare feet or 1/2 sole
Hip Hop: Sneakers
Ballet: Girls - Pink split sole slipper
Boys - Black split sole slipper
