It's about more
than dance.....
This special program is designed
for dancers who strive to accomplish an advanced level
of training.
It's not just about dance
education; it's total education. Team dancers learn life
skills through performances, attending unique workshops,
working as a team and so much more. Performances include
charity benefits, community events, competitions and Dance
Spectrum Showcase Performances.
Team members are encouraged
to set and achieve goals. Older dancers serve as mentors
for younger dancers and all participants are a part of a
wonderful team of friends, all of whom are striving to be
the best they can be.

|
| Since its inception,
the main goal of the Competitive Program has been to
build character and enhance the lives of our dancers. |
|
Dancers
are placed in classes based on ability, technique, skill level,
and performance quality.

Competition Team Announcements
|
- This Competition program is designed
for dancers expecting a challenge.
It is an advanced dance program, even in the
younger divisions.
- The "Company" Program is
designed for dancers in pursuit of intense technical
training.
- Ballet is the foundation
of all competitive programs at the Dance
Spectrum. Every team dancer is expected to study ballet
weekly. Time requirements are determined by age. If you
dislike or do not understand its value to all of the other
dance forms, this program may not be for you. With a long
history of successful alumni, we've never produced a good
Jazz, Tap, Hip Hop, Lyrical or Acro dancer that did not
take Ballet seriously.
- Time requirements are determined
by age.
- All Team & Company dancers
pay a basic Team Fee as well as their regular
tuition.
- Entry fees to
all competitive and workshop events are the sole responsibility
of the dancer.
- All Team and Company dancers
have a required amount of classes that they are expected to
attend weekly. All team members are required to take a non-performing "specialty" class
weekly. Attendance is required and monitored.
- All Team and Company dancers
are required to follow a dress code for all of their classes.
- All Team dancers participate
in 2 local competitive events. We anticipate these events to
take place in the spring.
- Dancers selected for the Company
Program participate in regional and national workshops and
competitions, in addition to the two local competitions.
- It is HIGHLY RECOMMENDED that
all Team members continue their dance training over the summer
at the Dance Spectrum or any other summer intensive program. This
is a requirement of all Company members.
